You're Exhausted from Trying to Be Perfect All the Time

The constant pressure feels unbearable. Every morning, you wake up with that familiar knot in your stomach, already running through today's impossible to-do list. Your mind races with thoughts about what you ate yesterday, what you'll eat today, and how you'll manage to get everything done while maintaining the facade that everything is fine.

You've achieved so much academically, yet inside you feel like you're barely holding it together. The anxiety that once pushed you to excel now feels suffocating. Maybe your relationship with food has become increasingly complicated—using restriction or control to manage the chaos in your mind. Perhaps intrusive thoughts have started taking over, demanding rituals that you know don't make logical sense but feel impossible to resist.

The truth is, you're not alone in this struggle, and there's a faster path to healing than you might imagine.

When Traditional Weekly Therapy Isn't Enough

You might have tried therapy before. Maybe you sat across from well-meaning therapists who didn't really understand the complexity of what you're experiencing. They treated your anxiety as one issue, your eating concerns as another, and never grasped how these struggles interweave with past trauma or unique pressures you face.

Weekly sessions helped somewhat, but progress felt painfully slow. The idea of spending months or years in traditional therapy while your symptoms continue affecting your daily life feels overwhelming.

This is exactly why I created a different approach—one that honors the interconnected nature of your struggles and provides concentrated support you deserve.

Welcome to Live Mindfully Psychotherapy

My name is Kelsey Fyffe, and I am so glad you’re here!

I'm a licensed therapist specializing in the complex intersection of anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, and trauma. From my virtual practice, I work with clients throughout Texas who are ready to break free from perfectionism, self-criticism, and shame.

My approach is different because I understand your struggles don't exist in isolation. The anxiety driving your perfectionism might also fuel disordered eating patterns. Past trauma might manifest as both OCD symptoms and relationship difficulties. Your athletic or dance background might complicate your relationship with your body in ways general therapists simply don't comprehend.

Through specialized intensive therapy sessions and comprehensive virtual treatment, I help you address all aspects of your experience in an integrated, efficient way.

The Power of Intensive Therapy: Accelerated Healing for Busy Lives

EMDR Intensives: Heal Trauma in Days, Not Years

Imagine walking into Friday feeling burdened by past trauma and walking out Sunday with genuine peace and resolution. This is the reality of EMDR intensive therapy.

Unlike traditional weekly EMDR sessions that take months to process a single trauma, intensives allow us to work through multiple traumatic memories comprehensively over a concentrated period. During our 90-minute planning session, we'll thoroughly explore your trauma history and current symptoms. You'll receive a customized intensive workbook designed specifically for your needs, with essential coping skills to practice before we begin.

The intensive typically spans 2-3 days, with extended sessions maintaining therapeutic momentum. Instead of losing progress between weekly appointments, we stay engaged in the healing process, moving through traumatic memories while you're in a resourced, supported state. This concentrated approach means experiencing significant relief without putting your life on hold for months.

For women juggling demanding responsibilities, EMDR intensives offer practical healing that respects both your time and your need for comprehensive treatment.

OCD Intensives: Break Free from the Obsessive Cycle

Living with OCD while managing daily life feels impossible. Intrusive thoughts interrupt important moments. Compulsions eat away at your time and energy. You might spend hours daily managing symptoms others don't even know exist.

OCD intensives provide concentrated treatment using evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) combined with exposure and response prevention. Rather than spending months building up to challenging exposures in weekly therapy, intensives create momentum quickly. We practice real-world exposures, process arising anxiety, and build new response patterns within a supportive, extended therapeutic container.

During your intensive, we'll start with the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) assessment to understand your specific symptoms. I create a customized treatment plan addressing your unique obsession and compulsion patterns. We'll work together intensively to challenge OCD's rules, developing new ways of responding to intrusive thoughts without compulsions.

The concentrated nature means seeing significant symptom reduction in days rather than months, returning you to living life instead of being controlled by OCD.

Weekly Virtual Therapy for Ongoing Support

While intensives provide powerful breakthrough moments, some women prefer consistent weekly support. My virtual therapy practice offers specialized treatment for anxiety, eating disorders, and trauma from the comfort of your own space.

Anxiety Therapy Beyond Surface-Level Coping

Your anxiety isn't just about stress management—it's deeply connected to perfectionism, self-worth, and possibly unresolved trauma. We don't just teach breathing exercises. We explore root causes, understanding how past experiences shaped current response patterns.

Using ACT, we'll develop psychological flexibility—staying present with difficult emotions without being controlled by them. You'll recognize when anxiety tries protecting you from perceived threats that aren't actually dangerous, developing responses aligned with values rather than fears.

For perfectionistic women, anxiety often serves as misguided motivation. We'll explore maintaining drive and ambition without exhausting constant worry, differentiating between helpful concern leading to productive action and anxious rumination depleting energy.

Eating Disorder Recovery: Healing Your Relationship with Food and Body

Whether struggling with restriction, binge eating, or the exhausting cycle between them, our work addresses both behavioral and emotional aspects. As a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS), I understand complex factors maintaining eating disorder behaviors, especially in perfectionistic women using food and body control to manage anxiety and maintain a sense of control.

We'll understand the function your eating disorder serves—perhaps managing overwhelming emotions, creating control, or meeting impossibly high standards. Through sessions, you'll develop new ways meeting these needs without using food or body manipulation.

Recovery isn't just normalizing eating patterns; it's addressing underlying perfectionism, shame, and often trauma fueling the disorder. We'll work on body image healing, challenging cultural messages about worth and appearance, especially if you have dance or athletic backgrounds where body scrutiny was normalized.

Therapy and Coaching For Dancers & Athletes

Your relationship with your body is complicated in ways most people don't understand. Years of training taught you to view your body as a tool for performance, subject to constant scrutiny and critique. The same discipline that made you excel in dance or athletics now fuels destructive patterns around food, exercise, and self-worth. I understand the unique pressures faced by dancers and athletes. The normalized body commentary in training environments. The pressure to maintain a certain physique for performance. The identity crisis when injury or life transitions shift your relationship with your sport. The way perfectionism in athletics bleeds into every other area of life. Our work together addresses both the psychological impact of athletic culture and the practical challenges you face. We'll explore how your athletic background shaped current struggles with anxiety, eating, or body image. You'll develop new ways of relating to your body that honor your athletic identity while creating space for healing and self-compassion.

 Why Specialized Care Matters

Many clients come after working with generalist therapists treating symptoms as separate issues. The therapist addressing anxiety didn't understand eating disorders. The one knowing eating disorders didn't grasp OCD. No one understood how trauma tied everything together.

My overlapping specialties mean seeing your complete picture. I understand how perfectionism fuels both anxiety and disordered eating, OCD symptoms mask eating disorder behaviors, past trauma manifests as various symptoms, and high achievement becomes both coping mechanism and prison.

This integrated understanding informs every treatment aspect. We're not just addressing symptoms; we're healing the whole person.

For Weekly Therapy: Your first 55-minute session focuses on understanding complete history and establishing clear goals. We'll conduct necessary assessments like the Y-BOCS for OCD, collaborating on a treatment plan addressing specific needs. Building rapport and ensuring you feel understood and safe is priority from day one.

For Intensives: We begin with comprehensive 90-minute planning session diving deep into history and current symptoms. You'll receive a customized intensive workbook with exercises and coping skills to practice before the intensive begins.

Trauma Therapy: Healing What Happened to You

Past experiences continue shaping your present in ways you might not fully recognize.

Maybe childhood dynamics taught you that your worth depended on achievement. Perhaps a specific traumatic event left you feeling unsafe in your own body. Family relationships might have normalized criticism and impossibly high standards, creating the perfectionism and shame you struggle with today.

Trauma isn't always dramatic or obvious. Sometimes it's the accumulation of smaller wounds—emotional neglect, chronic criticism, or growing up in an environment where your needs consistently went unmet. These experiences create lasting patterns affecting how you relate to yourself and others.

Using EMDR and other trauma-informed approaches, we'll process experiences that continue impacting your daily life. You'll understand how past trauma connects to current struggles with anxiety, eating disorders, or OCD.

Through our work together, you'll develop a compassionate understanding of how you developed these coping mechanisms and create new, healthier ways of meeting your needs. Trauma therapy isn't about dwelling in the past—it's about freeing yourself from its grip so you can fully engage in your present and future.
