Meet Danielle!
This girl is Danielle Marks Dworaczyk, LPC and I’m so excited to have her on the Live Mindfully team! Danielle has not one, but TWO Master’s degrees, and is currently working on her doctorate! She’s a smart cookie and an even better therapist. Read on to learn more about her.
Danielle, tell us about yourself
I got into therapy because I believe everyone has the ability to reach whatever goals they have for themselves. And I love helping people reach those goals! We all have crap we have to deal with, but if we have a supportive person to help us through it, we are way more likely to succeed. So that’s my goal - to be that support for people.
What do you love about your work?
The people! I love that I get to meet so many different types of people and help them grow. I also love to learn, and working as a therapist means I get to constantly search out new information. I believe people are experts in themselves, and I love to learn about your life and your story so I can use my therapeutic skills to help you succeed.
Who do you work with?
Adolescents, young professionals, and adults dealing with anxiety and work life balance. I’ve spent a lot of time helping people through life transitions. Whether that’s the transition into your career, motherhood, or out of a period of distress, I help people figure out how to successfully move from one life stage to the next.
Teach us your favorite coping skill
Grounding skills are my favorite technique for easing yourself out of feeling panicky. Here’s how you do it: pick up your car keys, sit in a chair, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Trace the outline of your keys with your fingertips, noticing the temperature of the metal on your fingertips. Take note of the texture and weight of the keys in your hands. After noticing the weight, temperature, and texture of the keys, take 10 deep breaths and open your eyes. Grounding skills are super useful for getting out of your head and pulling yourself back into the present moment.
